Installation & Durability

Can solar attachment spacing from the middle of a roof be reused at edges and corners?

Not automatically. Wind demand can vary between interior, edge and corner locations, and also with array position and roof geometry. FM’s 2026 roof-PV guidance compares location-specific loads with connection resistance; IronRidge’s design guide bases allowable attachment spacing on site/loading conditions and notes that high-load roof zones may need stronger rails or more attachments. Use the engineered layout for the selected system, verifying rail spans, attachment capacity and the load path into the roof structure. Uniform spacing may be acceptable if it is verified for the governing conditions. Do not copy an interior-zone spacing or another manufacturer’s example without that check.
